PROUD TO BUILD BC
ABOUT BCBT
The BC Building Trades (BCBT) represents our province’s 45,000+ unionized tradespeople. BCBT advocates for well-paying jobs in the construction industry that are also safe, secure and carried out by the highest skilled workers in the province. We achieve this by working with project owners to ensure everyone involved benefits from construction projects in B.C.
Our purpose is to:
- Protect and uplift B.C.’s highly skilled tradespeople
- Invest in apprenticeships to help more people enter the trades
- Ensure B.C.’s tradespeople have access to new training and opportunities
- Advocate for the ongoing improvement of working conditions in the trades—like winning flush toilets for large worksites
- Partner with construction project owners to ensure they hire skilled, local tradespeople
- Continue to build a better British Columbia
